“I started Wheat Belly because my life depended on it.“

I wanted to share a story with you about Michelle who was featured on my Wheat Belly blog not long ago.

Michelle was a type 2 diabetic and overweight and suffered bothersome skin rashes. After spending six months on the Wheat Belly lifestyle she lost nearly 50 pounds.

She writes:
I did not feel well and had diabetes, high liver enzymes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, high ferritin (iron) levels. I had rashes and too many other things to mention.

But in 6 months, my cholesterol is normal, my A1C went from 9.1 (diabetic) to 5.1. My ferritin level went from a whopping 1,538 to normal. (Nope, I don’t have the genetic disorder that causes this.) I was just sooo unhealthy.

She also had abnormal levels of estrogen and this condition, sadly, led to a hysterectomy because her medical professionals could not rule out uterine cancer as the cause. In hindsight, Michelle feels the estrogen in her diet and environment were probably the cause of her hormone imbalance. She was in the care of medical doctors who treated her with medications, including synthetic hormones, which gave her severe panic attacks. On top of it all, she had no energy to exercise even a little.

Once she discovered the Wheat Belly diet and began to follow it, the weight started coming off. Her rashes began to clear up. Her inflammation decreased and she felt less moody. Her panic attacks subsided. She began to walk. Today, her energy is amazing. She is loving life!

She threw out her meds all on her own with spectacular results: She is thinner, no longer diabetic, no longer suffering from fatty liver, rashes, or abnormal hormone levels.

All of Michelle’s conditions were easily and readily reversible, yet not one doctor recognized this. I wouldn’t be surprised, in fact, if doctors blamed Michelle for her conditions.
